If you’re concerned about leaving your day job and going out on your own, don’t worry, you’re not alone. One of the biggest worries I had when I started my web design business was finding clients. Of course I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find any, and that my business would fail, however by simply door knocking, I was able to source work, and quite easily too. I would simply take a handful of business cards, and go from business to business in the area and doorknock, firstly introducing myself and secondly, raising awareness about my freelancing web design business. This strategy worked very well for me, and allowed me to start a web design business with little marketing efforts and very low startup costs.
