We all experience Panic Away at times
Few people are aware of the seriousness of panic attacks and the toll they take on the people who suffer from them. We all experience Panic Away at times; at a healthy level, it is what protects us from things that could hurt us. A panic attack is an unhealthy level of anxiety: concentrated and intense. It is difficult to describe a panic attack to someone who has never had one, but sufferers report symptoms such as shortness of breath, racing heartbeat, faintness, sweating and nausea. There can be an overwhelming sense of impending doom or the conviction that the person is going to die. Often, the diagnosis comes with adolescence, as teens are dealing with their changing bodies, more responsibility, and the pressure of school, friends, and family. The symptoms are so severe that people may even attempt suicide to escape from living with panic attacks. It is crucial that panic attack sufferers know that there is hope. With the right treatment, which could include medication and psychotherapy, this is a manageable condition. In some cases, the panic attacks may lessen in severity over time and symptoms may even disappear completely. Knowing what to look for regarding panic attacks could save the life of someone you know.
