Awesome Mehndi Designs

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Last weekend my best friend and I decided to visit a local art fair.  While walking around we kept seeing people with the most amazing mehndi designs.  Finally, we couldn’t take it anymore so we asked a gal we saw where she got her henna tattoo.

She told us that there was a booth setup where we could go and get our own henna tattoo for a small price.  Alright!  We went straight away to find this booth, and are we glad we did!

I had never had a henna temporary tattoo before, and was really excited.  For my friend, though, it was old hat.

We came away with beautiful, ornate designs.  Next time we will find a mehndi booth first thing, so we can show off our designs.

Question on Small Tattoo Designs

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Is anyone interested in small tattoo designs? I have a small tattoo that I designed for someone who wants it. It’s a nymph bathing, and it’s really cool for someone who is interested in Roman architecture and art designs. I’m trying to get my career going with tattoos and really want to find a way to sell my small tattoo designs to parlors or to individuals. If anyone wants to see any of my small tattoo designs, feel free to contact me! I’m very interested in expanding my business, so if anyone is interested in collaborating or knows of any jobs available, that would be amazing! I can do larger pieces but prefer smaller scale pieces.

Keep Work Fun with Free Music Downloads

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

I work from home.  Without a home stereo system, I have resorted to using my computer as my stereo.  Instead of relying on the built-in speakers I purchased a good pair of used speakers that sound remarkable.  One of the great things about using my computer as a stereo is that it is versatile.  With ares, a Web site where I can download unlimited, free music files, I have play lists that are eclectic and hours long.  The download speeds are fast and accessing the database of songs is easy.  My computer is jammed full and I’m rocking out while I work.  Can life really get any better?

4 Years of Podcasting

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

We got an email from Dan this morning saying “congratulations on 4 years of podcasting.” We had to actually check the archives to realize that he was right. We’ve been doing the show for 4 years now. It doesn’t hardly seem possible.

When we started, it was just a whim. Gail and I turned on the microphone and spewed whatever came into our heads. After 4 years, honestly, it’s still just about like that.

We were planning on not doing a show this week, but in light of it being such a momentous occasion, we almost have to. Maybe I’ll go back and pick up some funny clips from the first few shows to make fun of. If you can’t pick on yourself, who can you pick on?

Allow a Houston Photographer to Help You Make Your Project a Success

Monday, September 14th, 2009

When I wanted to have a professional photo made, I was thinking that I would go to a Houston photographer studio and have him take my photos at his site. However, after speaking with a professional whom I contacted, I decided that having the photo made at my company would make much more sense. I was amazed at his creative eye, and the photos he took of me were really amazing. I usually never like pictures of myself, but he actually was able to make me look really great. As far as I am concerned, it was money very well spent.

Thank You Card Wording Can Be A Quote By Your Author Of Choice

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Ever since I was little, I always remember my mom sending our friends and family cards for every holiday and occasion.  I mainly remember the thank you card wording she would put inside and everyone seemed to love it.  She usually had a quote by one of her favorite authors or her favorite poet, and it always had a very special meaning to her.  Now that I am older, I have decided to follow in her footsteps and do the same thing.  I am happy to do this because I see it as a family tradition that can carry on for years.

Rib Cook Off and Blues Festival Part of Summer Fun for Blues Guitar Fan

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Every July a rib cook off and blues festival is held close to the town where I live.  I love good barbecue ribs and I enjoy listening to blues music, so I always look forward to this event.  This year my girlfriend and I attended the festival and got to taste ribs from several different cooks.  They were all good but unique in that no two barbecue sauces were the same.  We listened to some excellent music by young and old artists alike.  One kid looked to be in his early teens and he could wail with the best of them.  He could play blues guitar like a pro.  That got me to thinking.  Maybe if wasn’t too late for me to learn to play blues guitar.  My girlfriend said I was too happy to play the blues.

My husband started to play blues guitar when he was in college.  He originally played in a rock band in high school, but was influenced by some of the great blues artists of our time into giving up rock.  That was how we met.  Some of my friends and I went to this little club outside of the town where we all went to school.  The music that night was blues and the lead singer for the group was this tall, thin kido played the blues like he had lived them.  That’s pretty good for a kid who grew up in the suburbs and never went without anything.
